A long time ago now somewhere in East London, founder Mike was growing up surrounded by a vibrant and multicultural food scene. Small independent businesses, many run by families from overseas helped to cultivate a passion for food that is just as strong today as it was when he was in his teens.
Growing up around a very strong Italian community heavily influenced him and only fuelled his love of Italian food. Mostly his passion was for Pasta, bread and above all, Pizza.
It was during that period he began to dream about one day being able to open his own Pizzeria.
Not just to sell any regular Pizza though. The aim was to create a product that championed the use of high quality dough and toppings. Longer proving times. Organic flour. Traditional baking methods. After visiting Italy various times and sampling the differing varieties available, Mike decided to take influences from each and create his own take on the humble Pizza.
Many years have passed since then, along with jobs in various food establishments and that dream of opening a quality Pizzeria has finally come true with the takeover of the cafe formerly known as Angels.
